Tlio Lambton and Burwood collieries have furthoi* reduced tlio price of coal by three pence the ton, making the selling price of best 6s 9d. management state tlmt it is absolutely necessary, if they nro to retain the trade, as the other collieries iu tlio district are soiling below tlio nominal fixed rate of 7s, and they liavo been driven to fight, and are determined to carry it on to the bitter end.
