Messrs Lowes and lorns report holding a clearing sale at Mr Parker's form yesterday, selling everything under the hammer at satisfactory prices, '2l cows ranged from ;£3 to £7 3s, averaging £5 per head; heifers, £4 12s; young cattle, 40s: calves, 22s 6d; ewes in lamb, 9s; wethers, lis; hoggets, 5s Gd; horses,! '£l2; hacks, £3 to £6; oats. Is 9d.j Vehicles, implements,,and sundries mot with a good sale. D. CIIEWE'S WEEKLY REPORT During the week the demand for produce has been more active, and I have placed several lines of potatoes privately at an advance of 2s 6d per ton above last quotations. I anticipate the demand will increase as the planting season draws near. The demand for chuff (which is scarce in this district) is increasing, as the grass is still short and the weather severe on stock. At Saturday's horse sale a- team of draught horses with dray and har- j ncss realised £SO. Hacks were dull in demand, owing to the inclemency of the weather, The attendance at tho miscellaneous and produce sale was limited. Many lines were passed in under the hammer, but most were sold privately after the sale The property on the Mungahao Road was purchased by Mr 11 W. Briggs, for £135 For produce Iquote potatoes, good sample, £2 las to £2 17s Gd; others, £2 5s to £2s 7s Gd; onions, fd to Id per lb; first early seed potatoes, 7s to 9s (id per cwt. I have several enquiries for good hoggets, also good dairy cows and heifers.
