MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUST

MONTHLY MEETING.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Masterton Hospital Trustees, was held yesterday afternoon, Present-Messrs .J. C. Boddington (Chairman), Iv Feist and llcv. Father McKenim. MINI'TKS. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. treasurer's report. Tho Treasurer reported a debit balance at date of £2l9s lOd, I.KAVE OK AIISEXCK. Messrs J* lorns and J. B. Keith wrote asking leave of absence from the meeting.—Granted. TIII; lIOSI'ITAI, HA1.1,. The Secretary of the Hospital Ball Committee wrote enclosing a cheque for £55, proceeds of the Ball, On the motion of the Chairman a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to (he promoters. A SUIiGESTIOX. The Ltdies' Committee of the Hospital Ball wrote suggesting the making of provision for outdoor patientsreceivingmedicalattendance and medicine gratis, or at a nominal charge. The Chairman thought the matter ouo requiring careful consideration, Father McKenna thought such a proposal would largely increase the duties of the doctor and all the Hospital stall Mr Feist said there was no indication on what lines the suggestion was to be carried out. . The Secretary said the petitioners wished to send a deputation to wait on the Trustees.

Father McKenna moved that the report be leftover until next meeting the Trustees to receive a deputation on that occasion, This course was adooted. HOSPITAL lUAKT.

The Hospital diary was read. Dr Hosking complained that owing to their being uo shelter-shed for his horse and trap, he had just suffered considerable loss through his horse breaking away from the fence. Ho also reminded the Trustees that a resolution had been passed, authorising the erection of a shelter-shed.

Mr Williams, the Custodian,wrote offering to erect the shed, providing tho Trustees supply materials.

The Rev. Father McKenna moved that the matter be left in the hands of flic visiting member to attend to.

ACCOI'XTS. The following accounts were passed for payment:--.!. Cieelman, £9los; H, Jones, £l2s 9d; Mrs Cole, 7s (id; S, Kingdon, £1; A. Stempa, £2 16s 4d; W.F.C.A., £5 Os ss; Seigner, Langrnth & Co., £1 7sßd.

The report of patients, read to the meeting, showed that there were seven patients in the Hospital at the beginning of the month; four were admitted and six discharged, leaving five in the institution at date. VISITING JIKMIIEH.

The Rev. Father McKenna was appointed visiting member, and the meeting went into Committee, to deal with patients' accounts,
