Tho challenge debate between members of the Ekotahuna and Pahiatua Debating Societies, was held last night, on tho subject, "That the Federation of tho Australian Colonies is Desirable," There was a big attendance of the public The 'Pahiatua- speakers were—Messrs F.Greville,Macl6skey, 'and Baillie, and the Eketah'u:js speakers—Messrs R. P.Grev- ' illej Perytnan, Li/wis and Stewart. A big majority decided in favour of jedqratioii,' ■ ' " ' .''
