ESTATE OF A. J. JACOBS.

The first meeting in the estate.of A. J. Jacobs was held to-day, the Deputy Official Assignee (Mr W. B. Chennells) presiding. There were no creditors present. The debtor, in a written statement, said that on acconnt of being tlireatetied with a distress warrant, and having been sued by several other creditors, rid in the face of scarcity of employment, ho was unable to pay back debts, and felt compelled.to file, Examined on oath byjji D.0.A., debtor said he had beeuTjj Masterton about four years. The debts incurred were principally for living oxpenses. His wife had kept a Registry Office since they came to Masterton,but made nothing out of it. Sho had no property, fcto fowls she had were purchased to her own money. He had no - stock of stuffed birds of bis own at present. He bad tried to arrange the debt owing to C. Hughes, for which the latter had promised to give him . work to do. He had not kept any account of what money be bad earned in Masterton. He lad not tried to make any arrangement with his credits.
