THE NEW TARIFF.

At a meeting of bootmakers, shirt- * makers, and chemists and druggists' associations, various resolutions were [passed objecting to the alterations in the Tariff affecting these industries. A telegram was read to the effect that the Government was propadtt to consider suggestions, and toTft.../ certain concessions.
' CiiiiisTciiuiicii, Tuesday. An open-air meeting, under tlio auspices of the Industrial Association, is to bo held to discuss the Tariff proposals. Strong objection is taken to the duty on flannelette.
