GEOGRAPHICAL CONGRESS.
London, July 30., At the Geographical Congress,Horr Neumayer proposed an international expedition to tlio Antarctic as terminal magnetism was an important matter, requiring solution there. Sir Joseph Ilookerand Dr. Murray (formerly of H.M.S. Challengor) warmly supported the proposal. The latter thought the South Polo possibly contained ono of the secrets of oceanic; circulation.
Sir G.' S. Baden-Powell said ho was convinced the Imperial Parliament would suppoit an Autarkic expedition.
A Committee was appointed to frame a resolution on the mutter,
