lii the matter of a Bill to be intituled "An Act to empower the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees to borrow £2,500 for tho erection of a Town Hall. NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made at the present session of tho General Assembly of New Zealand for leave to bring in a Bill lo be intituled, " An Act to empower the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees tn borrow £2,500 for the erection of a Town Hall," and that the objects of such Bill will be to enable and authorise the Masterton Trust Lands Trust ?es to borrow a sum of not exceeding £2500 for the purpose of erecting a Town Hull within the Borough of Mnstorton, such money to be borrowed on debentures, having a currency not exceeding ten years, of not less thin £lO or mora than £SO each, and bearing interest at a rate not exceeding six pouuds per centum per annum, and to he secured upon the revenues of the Mastciion Trust Lands Trust, and the Bill will further empower (he Trustees, upon I lie maturity nf the said debentures, to renew, re-issue, or exchange such debentures, for other debentures at a rate of interest not exceeding six pounds per centum ppr annum, and for such period as the Trustees may determine. The Bill will also provide that before any steps shall be taken to raise a loan under this Act, the consent of the inhabitants whose names arc on the voters list of the Masterton taking a poll in the manner therein provided, such consent to be deemed to be given if the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeds one half of the total number of voters on the Voters' List. Machinery is also provided for taking the poll, authority is given for payment of preliminary expenses and erection of Town Hall out of loan money, and a form of debenture is contained in the schedule of the Bill.
