THE ABRAHAMS CASE.

Melbourne, July 22.

Edward and Alfred Abrahams, convicted of fraudulently marking guiiß and altering the size of the tents sold by them, hayo been fined £250 each and sentenced to 12 months' hard labour. Mr Justice Williams ordered sentence to be suspended pending an appeal to tho Supreme Court on the ground that the prisoners were not present when the verdict was given.

The other two brothers are still too unwell to appear for sentence.
