Hornblow and Co., auctioneers and produce merchants, report as follows for the week ending Saturday, July 20th Owing to sovere weather we have been experiencing during the past week, business has not been quite as brisk as usual, there being very few country people in town. Prices for all kinds of produce remain at last weeks quotations. Oui horse sale on Saturday was not up to the ayerage, although the horses entered shewed an improvement, there being one or two really first-class hacks offered. We held an extensive sale of valuable town properties at our Carterton rooms on Wednesday, and, taken as a whole, this salo was a most successful one,

The following are onr wholesale quotations : Butter, 9d per lb; eggs, lOd to Is hams and bacon, Gd to 7d per lb. Poultry: fowls, 2s 3d to 2s lid per pair; ducks, 3s Gd; geese, 4a 8d; turkeys, ss. •Produce: Oats, Is lOd to 2s; oaten sheaf (good), 2s 3d to 2s 6d; 1 chaff, Is 3d; potatoes, good table, 70spor ton; inferior, 60s, Oranges, 4s 6d per case, Fruit and ornamental trees, van-, ons prices, from 6d. Horses: Hacks, 6Qa to £5. 13ii"; harness do, £4 10s to £ll. draught, £9lßs to £l4los, Second-hand traps, 80s to £6los; do harness, 25s to 60s; do saddles' 10a to 30s. '
