A meeting of tho hounds was hold V at Longwood, yesterday aftornoon, when only about eight followed, and very few were looking on. The properties run over, wore Messrs Pharazyn's, Hurt's, Willis' and Jackson's, Word has been received, that tko mouth of the Lake has again closed. Mr W, Barton of To Puhi, has bought about ten acres from Mr Monckton, between To Puhi and /Nowstead, and intends shortly to jfeuild there. '™ The Fcatherston footballers do not intend playing any more cup matches this season, as tho cup has been won already by the Maoris, Tho Oddfellows' Social Club intend to give refreshments on their meetingnights, and to charge 2s per month, Theso evenings Beom to bo well patronised by the young men of the township, I nm glad to say.
