The present state of the parties is j Tories aud Unionists 291, Liberals; and Irish members 102; while the Liberal majority has been immensely reduced, heavy majorities have been polled against the labour candidates. Sir W, Y. Hnvcouvt declared tliat after the bursting of the storm, he had decided not to retire but to remain and fight for tho old cause.
