Bi/ Telegraph.—Press Ameinlioii. Naimkij, Friday. The survcyof theUriwera Country lis proceeding quietly so far as the Natives are concerned, but is greatly hampered by the severe weather and continual snow, which is some places is ten feet. About four miles of the Waikarenioami-Galalea Road is expected to be ready for the unemployed by the cud of next week. The gold prospectors in the Wairoa District have returned after three weeks absence, They found traces of a reef considerably disturbed by volcanic action, and brought in samples of loose gold, better than previous ones. The operations were hampered by the snow. Further exploration is intended.
