Houldsworth, speaking on llr Hotson's paper, urged the meeting to lose no time in beginning tho direct trade, which would be of immense importance (o North England ; the speaker declared that tho middleman in England, was necessary. Tiio Manchester newspapers comment favorably on Mr Hotson's visit, and strongly encourage tho opening of direct trade with Manchester.
