Wellington, Tuesday. Mr Martin, S.M., gavo judgment to-day, in the case in which Catherine Russell claimed £2OO damages from Charles Waters, oyster saloonkeeper, alleging he had contracted bigamy by his marriage with her. The Magistrate said lie believed Waters' first wife was living, and there was no doubt that there had been misrepresentations, but as plaintiff was aware of the facts, aud bad agreed to throw in her lot with defendant, he would only award nominal damages—2os aud 21s costs.
