It is now some lime since a theatrical Company of any note visited Masterton, and the advent of (lie Kennedy-Lucas Dramatic and Comedy Company, will therefore bo looked forward to with considerable pleasure, In Mr Kennedy the public will renew acquaintance with an old favorite, who or. other occasions -particularly with Mr Collet Dobson-has' always met with a warm and kindly reception from a Masterton audience, Mr Albert Lucas, who is now at the head of the combination, is an English actor of some note, who ■ has been associated with some of ' the greatest actors of modern times, I and whoso finished performances. ;have won him golden opinions j [everywhere. The Edinburgh Sculf-l ; mini, .speaking of Mr Lucas,describes' his acting as "full of pathetic expression, ami marked throughout! with intelligence and earnestness,"] IMr Lucas has also written several important pieces. Tho company, all, round, is a good one, and includes j amongst the lady astists, Miss Lillal Wilde, whose acting is very highly j spoken of, by several of our exchanges, We have no doubt that the public will show substantial appreciation of ihe Kennedy-Lucas Company's visit, by a big house on Monday evening next, when Scndamorc's sensational drama, " Fighting I'oi tune," will be staged.
