GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Associatiou was held on Saturday, at the Club Hotel. Present—Messrs Jas. McGregor (in the chair) Walter Perry, G. H. Welch, John Hessoy, E. E. Chamberlain, Wm. Perry, J, Moivlem, C, Bannister, McKonzie, R... Gray, F. C, Lewis, I. Sykcs, A. Meredith, , resigning membership.—Accepted, From thp Goraldine Farmers' Club covering a resolution passed in reference to tho condition of the frozen meat trade, and asking the co-operation of the Association with a viow to obtain a Conference, From the Secretary of the Hawke's Bay A. and P, Association, on the subject of stock inspection, etc. From the Secretary of the Palmerston North A, and P. Association,
on the subject of Mr Ncthau's scheme for dealing with frozen meat.
Prom the Egmont A. and P. Association on the same subject, each with :t view to co-operate and to obtain a Conference,
I It was resolved to agree with the Societies mentioned, and to endorse their action with regard to the subjects contained in their correspondence, and that this Society urge on the Government the necessity of a Conference. Also that two members be nominatedtosuch Conference when it is convened. ACCOnNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment:—lnterest,£6 10s; J.]]cnle,7s6d; W.McKenzie, Je.3lßs6d; D. Pickering, 7s lid;J. Paylon & Co., £4; T. Wilton, 5s Gd; A.'Walker, £9los. DATE 01' BUOW. Proposed by Mr I Sykes, seconded by Mr Hessey -.—That tho Annual Show be held on the last Wednesday in February, so as not to interfere with the harvesting. An nmendmont was proposed by Mr William Perry, seconded by Mr C. Bannister, that Wednesday, 12th February, he the date on which to hold the Show, on account of the Ram Fair being in tho same week, Mr Hessey preferred the last week in the month, although ho was aware that the 12th was the best suited to breeders of stud sheep,
Mr Sykes said that with the leave of the seconder, he would withdraw his motion in favour of Mr Perry's amendment, The amendment of Mr Perry was then declared carried. ALTERATION OF RULES. Ill' F. C. Lewis gave notice to move at next meeting as follows ; Clause V.: " That tho closing date of the financial year be altered from the 31st day of May," Clause VI.: "That the date of the special general meeting be altered •from January or February, to June or July," Clause XVI.: "That the annual subscriptions be made due and payable on Ist June In each year, in place of on Ist April."
