NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT.

Eccwci, Jitr.c 21,1 a.m. Sydney, Juno 20. After a long and hostile debate, Dr. McLanrin's amendment, that the Land Tax Dill be postponed for six months, was carried by 41 votes to 4.

Baxircd, Junc2l, 10.30 a.m. Sydney, June 21. The Premier, Mr Reid, will make a Ministerial statement on Tuesday. It is believed the Government will send the Land and Income Tax Bills, just passed in the house, on to Council, where doubtless they will be rejected, but will refrainf roniscndiugthe Customs Hill, which has been passed by the Assembly. The usual message forwarding the Bill having been omitted, this step was taken to save time, for, if tho Bill is now sent on and rejected tho Legislative Assembly would require to go over the whole ground next sossioa, whereas under the present arrangement tho Bill can be taken up where it was left off. The Government will probably pass tho Works Loan Bill, a short Electoral Amending Bill and the Estimates, and then Parliament will be prorogued for the recess. If the Legislative Council next session rejects the taxation measures, then a Bill will be introduced to reform that chamber, and the Government will appeal to country on that question, combined with free trade and direct taxation.
