N.S. WALES POLITICS.
Iteccked June 19,10A5 a.m. Stdxet, June 19. The all-absorbing topic of conversation in political circles is the attitude the Council are likely to adopt in regard to the taxation moasures to-night. It is thought thnt branch of the legislature will possibly attempt to excise tho Income Tax leaying only the Land Tax. The Herald declares that it is not too much to say this is possible, and the action of the Council is regarded by tho country with ijravo concern and apprehension. The majority of the Council shows itself so bitterly hostile to the policy of the Reid Government as to forget the ordinary decencies of political life, in its eagerness to destroy that policy, boforo it is placed bofore them as a whole. If tho taxation measures are rejected it will become a question of Council versus Country, Mr Crick has introduced a Bill to eitend the restriction against Chinoso immigration to the Javanese, Japanese, and Kanakas.
