CORRESPONDENCE.
YOUR WELLINGTON LETTER. [to tue editoii.] Sir,—Your Wellington Correspondent, whose admirable letters I always read, is not quite correct when he says in last Thursday's paper that" a stonobuilding has yet to be erected in Wellington." As a matter-of-fact there is already one stone edifice in our capital city, and only one—the Equitable Building Society's Office near the Evening \ Post corner.
Another interesting comment he makes is the reference to the remarkable fact that a prominent Australian Bank in Wellington in refusing to give any interest whatever on money deposited for a three-monthly term, I can add to this by saying that another similar bank is doing the same thing, and that, for six mouths' deposits they only pay] about two per cent—l am etc.,
Thohxiiox. Wellington, Mtli June.
