Mrs M.RICHARDS COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. From oitrowii (lomtpmdenl. Carterton, Saturday. After a trial before a Bench of throe Justices and the S.M. lasting all day yesterday, Mrs Martha Richards was committed to take her trial _at the next sitting of the Wellington Criminal Sessions, for wilfully, feloniously, and maliciously setting fire to the School residence, occupied by her, on 24th May. Bail wasallowcdaudforthcomingin£loo. Mr Skerrctt aud Mr Izard were counsol, and Sergeant O'Mally conducted the case for the police. Very little additional evidence to that adduced at the fire inquest on Ist June was forthcoming.
