ANNUAL SOCIAL.
The animal social and presentation of prizes in connection with the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic and Cycling' Club, took place at the Drill Hull last evening, and proved a very pleasant gathering. The Hall was very nicely decorated, and the floor in excellent condition for dancing, a well selected programmo of dance music being supplied by Mr Keavslcy's Band,
The stage was filled with onlookers, the trophies to be presented, being arranged on a table in the centre, inul at ten o'clock, Mr 0, A. Pownall, in n brief speed], called on Mra W, H. Beolliam to make the presentation, Mrs Bectlmm, before distributing the awards, expressed her pleasure at the task before her, and congratulated the Cliib on its position. The prizes were then given out as follows, each recipient being applauded, as he loft the stage with bis lienors :

Mr Pownall in returning thanks to Mrs Beerham, on behalf of the Club, mentioned that Messrs MoGovern, Caselberg, Broad, and Jeffries, had very generously given back their prizes to tho Club funds which were not in a too-flourishing condition.
The following Committees carried out the arrangements, for the social, and to them is due much of its success: Ladies.MissesWelch.Caselberj:, Perry, Bunting, Walker,Boddington, Mesdames Perry, D'Arcy, Welch, Caselberg, Simms,Butement| Beetham andTabuteau; gentlemen: Messrs Y, J. Dupre, Norton, 1\ Wagg, W. Broad, McGovern, Anketell, and the Hon. See., Mr.W. Jeffries, Messrs Norton, Waggi Broad, and Jeffries acted as M.C'sl attending thoroughly to their duties.
