Fniiii Our On Correspondent. Monday. A meeting of the South Wairarapa River Board was held on Saturday afternoon, tho following being present, Messrs W. 0. Williams, j. 0. Bidwill, andF. Pearce. Mr Williams was voted to the Chair. The Treasurer reported the credit balance at .i'iilj 14s 10s. The Secretary apologised for the absence of the Chairman, Mr Matthews, through ill-healih. Accounts amounting to £2717s were passed for payment in connection with the recent opening of the Luke. This being all the business the meeting terminated. On Saturday evening, a meetine of milk suppliers was held at the Town Hoard Cilice, when about twenty were present, Mr J. S. Cuudy being voted to the Chair. After some dismission, it was resolved to start a Dairy Company, with a capital of £I2OO, in 1200 shares of the value of £l, each supplier to fake 2 shares for each cow. That 2s Gd per share be paid on application, and 2s 6'd on allotment, three months after application. The first call to be 2s 6'd per share, six months after application, the second call to be 2s Gd per share, twelve months after application, the third call to be 2s Cd per share, IS months after allotment. Messrs Jno. Cuudy, ,1. S. Cundy, A. Yule, M. Jackson, W. Hodder.junr., Jas, Bicknell, and j. Murphy, were elected Provisional Directors, and Mr Bock was sip. pointed Secretary, pro ten. 7b'o shares and HBO cows were guaranteed in the room. Mr W. C. Buchanan is to address his constituents here, on the 11th inst.
A meeting of Stewardsofthe Wairarapa liaicng Club was lieid at the Empire Hotel on Saturday afternoon. Present-Messrs \V. ]<]. Bidwill (chairman) W. J. Nix, F. Pearce, W. U. Williams, J. S. Cundy, and G. Reynolds. Mr Williams apologised for the absence of the Secretary, who was detained on urgent business. Accounts amounting to £4O 3s 5d were passed for payment. A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Bidwill Bros, for their kindness in having cut and carted fifteen loads of willows,which would have cost tho Club at least £6O. Mr Bidwill promised to have another four last loads brought so as to finish the river protective works, It was resolved to grub up some of the gorso in tho river bed opposite the lotnrns on tho Club's property, in the hope of it being taken away in the next fresh and thereby saving the inroad of the river,
