MOiXTHLY MEETING. From Our dim CurmpmuluL The usual monthly meeting of the cad board was keld on Saturday. Present-Messrs Jas. Donald, W. E. JbdwillT.R Evans, E. It. Harris, Jas JlcLcod, and W. J. JNu-, In the absence of the Chairman, Mr Donald was voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, The Treasurer's statement shewed the amount of overdraft as £l7-12 7s .Id. Accounts amounting to Mil 8s lid were passed for payment Correspondence inwards was dealt with as follows i From the Chairman stating that he! would he unable to attend the mcetiuK through ill-health.

McLaren, relative to compensation for the road passing through his property to Clifton G-rove.-It was resolved that a copy of Mr McLaren's letter should sent to Messrs McLcary, I'air. and Smith. G, Kelly asking (he Board to raise a loan to form a bridge track from Boar Bush Gully to his section, offering to take the whole responsibility on himself. ■lt was resolved lo grant permission and to apply to the Colonial Treasurer' lor the same. D. Cameron waited on the Board to ask them to allow their Engineer to report on the probable cost of a road to join the Mcnuum road, to give them access, as he and his neighbours cannot use the Coast road. —It was resolved thallhe Engineer should report on the same. W. Billion, stating that a demand has been made upon him for the rates of the properly "Tel'uhi," and asking that (he owner be held responsible for the siune.-Tlie Clerk read a letter from Mr W, (r. Beard, to the effect that the occupier be hold responsible for the rates, -licsolved to let the matter stand over till next meeting. _ J. H. Baker, stating that it was entirely the fault of the Board's officers, that the Oyster Shell road has not been legalised, owing to their not having sent him n tracing of the proposed liuc of road.—The Clerk informed the meeting, thithe had sent the tracing as required, some time hack, and hud got the Engineer to make a copy of the same. The Engineer's report was read aud adopted.
In connection with the loss of the Hoard's crab-winch and monkey, Mr ]3ock informed the meeting Hint some ' u-hilc back, Mr Eiddiford was granted permission to use the pile driver and winch, and that in the recent flood at To Awaitc the winch and gear were lost, and now Mr Eiddiford repudiated his liability, and the Hoard has had to get a uew crab-winch.
It was resolved that the Engineer should clcur below the Tauherciiiknu Bridges as well as above; also (hat the Works Committee should inspect the Ward's Line dvain which wants moro tall.
The Engineer reported that the proposed works on the liuakokopatuna ; road would amount to £2OB, and the Clerk was instructed to write to the Commissioner of Lands on the same, Mr Jas. Donald reported on the proposed concrete strong room, and that a door could be obtained from Luke & Sons, of Wellington, for £l2 10s. He further stated that the Town Board will giro a lease for ten years, and that Mr Benton had informed him that ho would do tho whole for £25. -It was resolved that Mr Benton's offer should be aocopted, provided the Town Board gives a lease for fourteen years, The clerk reported that there are £l2 5s duo to Mr W.J. Buck on thirds up to April 30th. r Mr I. J. Smith waited on the Board and asked if they wero determined to enforce tho fines which might be levied on him according tn the specifications on his property at Pahoa.' There were several items on the contractor's account which the Engineer would not pass Besolved to let the matter stand over till next meeting. Acquirements of Wardens :-Mr Nix some repairing to Morrison's Kaad' Mr Donald, bridge near Burt's garden wants planking; Mr Bidwill, wa uts Engineer to inspect Eahautara Boad • Mr Evans, some formation near Hun.' garoa; Mr Harris, some repairs near lo Awaite Boad. A ballot was then taken as to the positions of those who should retiro bv elßasion of tirao in May next, Messrs Ha .Donald, Bidwill and KusseJl being baUolted out. ° , This'being all tho business tho meeting adjourned,
