MASTERTON ROAD BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the above Board was held last Saturday, Present Mossre Cameron (Chairman), Harris, McKenzie, Stuckoy, and Holmes. It was resolyed that the consideration of Mr Wadham's off or be postponed until the question of dealing with the encroachment of tho Waiingawa River is settled,
It was resolved that the wages of surface men and others be reduced | Is per day, to take effect from June Il4th.
It was decided to request the owners of the gato posts on tho Opaki-Kangitumau Road, to remove them, and direct Mr Manning to his road boundary fenpfc where it encroaches. 9 Resolved to supply one bag or' grass seed to Mr Wilton, to sow on the road line felled by him, The Clerk was directed to write to 6. Manning with reference to tho complaints about his pigs rooting on McKay's road, pointing out that unless he takes steps to keep them off, they will be destroyed. Tho following estimates and rates were agreed to: —Subdivision No. 1, estimates to be minced by £lO7, rate to be 3-8(1; Subdivision No. 2, rate 5-16 d, the Engineer to reduce bis estimates accordingly; Subdivi.sionNo. 3, rate 3-Bd, Engineer to reduco his estimates accordingly. With reference to J. Mcltie's application re drain, it was reported that little or no damage had been done, and the money applied for (£2) could be better expended elsewhere. The Kaka-amu road motalliug loan quostion was referred to a committee consisting of Messrs McKenzie, Harris and Holmes, to report at noxt meeting.
