DISTRESSING ACCIDENT.
ANOTHER CHILD DROWNED IN THE MAKORA CREEK.
A sad acoi lent occurred yesterday at Homebiish, by which a bright little boy aged two years and seven months, son of Mr John Maxwell, lost his life. It appears tho child, whose name is Leslie Maxwell, was missed by his mother about 1 o'clock yesterday, and an immediate search in the vicinity of the house was made, The child not being found, the assistance of some neighbours was obtained, and the creek and bush round about was thoroughly searched, as_ it was thought that the boy might have lost himself in the bush. Tho search was continnod all night, aud at about 9 o'clcok this morning, tho body of the child was found under a treo in the Makora Creek, about, a hundred yards from his father's house. Great sympathy is felt with the parents, in their sad bereavoment. A singular thing in connection with the case is, that less than twelve months ago, Mr Maxwell was ono of a jury at an inquest held on the body of a child of Mr Maxell Vnbxfc tloor neighbour, a>o. drowned in tho i same creek, " '
