FIRE AT CARTERTON.

From Our Oirn Correspondent. Saturday. The School residence at Parkvale was destroyed by fire last night at 10 o'clock. Mrs Richards and family still occupied the house, although Mr Richards had ceased to hold the position of headmaster, The children were away at a party at Mr Hooper's farm near by and Mrs Richards was alone in the honse. Some of the neighbours seeing the reflection were quickly oil the spot and saved all the furniture in the front of the house including the piano. There is to be an enquiry into the origin of the lire. At present there is no explanation of its origin The furniture was insured in the Liverpool, London and Globe Office for £IBO.
