THE BISHOP OP SALISBURY, j Received, May 16, 10 p.m.

London, May 15. The Bishop of Salisbury, speaking at the Convocation of Canterbury, said the general power of religion in the Colonies was much less than in England. It was painful to see the commercial spirit of the Clergy, owing to the poverty of the Churches. They compete with each other like hotels. He attributed this to Dis-establishment, and the re-Union of the Church and State was tho enly thing that conld prevent it.
