TRAGEDY IN TARANAKI.
DOUBLE MURDER AND SUIi CIDE. A NATIVE KILLS HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER. Bij Telegraph—Press Association, Opunakb, Wednesday. Inspector Thomson tin's evening recoived the following telegram from New Plymouth : " Constable Bleasel telegraphs that a Native named Bon, living at Mahoetahi Pah, shot his littlo daughter dead this morning, set firo to the pah, and then shot himself" "Bleasel has gone out to make onquirios." New Plymouth, Wodnesday. Later news to hand of tho tragody atMahootahi is to the offoct that the body of Ben's wife had boon found in a hut abjut half a mile from tho pah, with tho head smashed in. An axe was found alongside tho body. It is presumed that Bon first killlod his wife, thou wont to tho pah and killed his daughor, sot Gre to the whare and then shot himself.
Jealously is supposed to be the cause of the crime.
