Mkmiouuxe, May 16. The work of the Income Tax assessors is almost completed, and shows tho total received from the Tax is not likely to exceed £160,000. Tho Treasuror is disappointed at this result, as his estimate was £200,000. One interesting fact is that Citll Servants' salaries contribute £50,000 of the Tax.

Under tho agreement made by tbe Agricultural Department, frozen meat shipped to Loudon by the Blue Anchor and Aberdeen Shipping Companies, is to be carried at three farthings per pound up to September, and thence to end of May, at jjd;_ for rabbits and poultry, and similar produce, 70s per ton to September, and 72s Gd after that date.

The Government is receiving numbers of petition against the abolition of the duties on native products and industries.
