For some time past there Copper lias been a noticeable Coin, scarcity of coppor coin in the community, so much so that when it is said of a man that there is " not a penny in his pocket!" it is not to be inferred that he is stone-broke, but simply that there are not enough pennies in the community to go round. We presume the fault lies with the Banks, for it is obviously their duty to see that a sufficient supply of copper coin is available for commercial purposes. Why they do not provide them we do not know. They may have a soul above coppers, but their senso of duty to tho public ought to compel them to provide all the change that may be demanded from them, Threepenny bits are now doing duty for coppers in this neighbourhood, but these are not in many instances as convenient change as the thrifty penny
