PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, DRE YERTON.
ANNUAL SOIREE. The Annual Social was hold last night, in tho Presbyterian Church, Dreyerton. After tea, served by the ladies of the District, a public meeting was held, presided over by the Rev. Robert Wood. The attendance was very large, ovory seat being filled, as well as seats in tho passage, and several had to stand at tho door. The Chairman, in the course of hisW remarks, referred to the signs of pro-" gress in Church work at Drcyerton, during the past year. The Sabbath School had increased in scholars and teachers; the services had been held ovory sabbath; the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper had beondisponsod; and one of their number had been ordained to the office of the Eldership. He was pleased to see the interest of the people in the work, as shown by the largo attendance that evening. Mr Georgo Bruce, Secretary and Treasurer, referred to the week night Bible Class that had been held; to the great assistance rendered by Mr Jackson, in the Sabbath School; and to the good work done by Mr Wardlaw, in conducting the Service of Praise. He then submitted the following Balance Sheet, for the year ending 31st March, 1895:-

T. D. WaBDUW. TLg Troasui'er's report wasadoptod on the motion of Mr Wardlaw. The Chairman then asked the mooting to elect a Committee of Management for the year. The following gentlemen were then nominated and declared elect: Messrs Bruce, Giles, J. Stewart, A. Stewart, F, Palmor, R. McKenzie, jr., and T. D. Wardlaw, Mr Giles made an excolleut short speech on the importance of the Sunday School. During the evening a party of singers from Masterton rendered an excellent musical programme under the leadership of Mr Simms, Every item was applauded, and Mr Simms' solo was heartily encored.
