VICTORIAN TIMBER.
Melbourne, May 8, The oicial report prepared on the timberresources of the colony reveals the fact that owing to the reckless destruction in the past, the colony is hardly able to supply its own wants, much less yield a surplus for export, The report expresses the fear that the scarcity of good timber may lead to inferior timber beiug exported under wrong names, aud thus lead to the irretrievable rain of the trade.
