Her husband ill-treated her, and fearing that her life was in danger, she obtained a warrant for his arrest, and it was tho intention of thopolico to execute the warrant this morniiifr, Dooley, however, broke into the house with an axe before daylight, and after gashing his wife with thei axe took her by the hair and cut heW throat. The six children huddled together in bed were helpless witnesses of the tragedy, Dooley then went to his mother-in-law's room and dealt her a fearful blow with tho axe, and afterwards nearly severed her head from her body with a razor. Ho then looted the house, and took all tho money he could find. On going outside he met Neale, a lodger in tho house, who was running for police assistance, Dooley struck him a terrific blow with the axe, fracturing his skull.
