THE WOOL MARKET.
London, April 30. The wool sales opened to-day.with a catalogue of 13,905 bales. There was a fair attendance, but the lots offerod proved to be a poor selection, and competition was weak, The Home trade were the chief buyers, foreigners doing nothing, Much of the wool offered was withdrawn.
Good sorts wero about on appair; r with March prices, inferior boinjj„afc per cent, below. T» Wool is still suffering from the effects under depression in the Colonial markets last year, and it is feared there will ho no improvement till the stocks in the bands of direct purchasers are further reduced,
