ON BOARD THE RINGAROOMA.
* PARTICULARS OF THE RECENT TROUBLE, Rttciml, jl% '> |S, Svunev, April 80. Tho court-martial in connection with the trouble, on board H.M.S. Riugarooma has commenced. The following charges 'are laid against Surgeon ta by Captain Johnson, viz. i-Treating the captain V contemptuously, refusing to go below when ordered to be placed under arrest, and refusing to oboy a command to sign an entry in tho lug stating that he had been placed under arrest, It transpires (bat Captain Johnsou charged Lea with neglect of duty in connection with a ceitain provision made tor the treatment of the wounded in action, The doctor, however, held that the matter complained of was not part of bis
duty. Later in the day, the doctor Jfrdcred the captain to go below, as was on the sick list, and required to bo placed under observation. Captain Johnson declined, and in turn placed the doctor undor arrest. The latter refused to obey the order, as the captain was on the sick list, and therefore not in command of the ship. Lea was consequently released by direction of Captain Castle, senior officer in charge of the station.
