RABBITS AT MAKUIiI.
[TO THE EDITOR.] Sin,—ln Saturday's issue of yotu valuable paper appeared an article written by a Mnkuri correspondent, rollectir.g on the the manner in which the Rabbit Inspectors in this district do their work. The article in question is ut cowardly attack on publie officers who have no chance of reply through the public press, lam in a position to know - nspectors arc both energetic and painstaking men who do their duty without fear or favour. Both officers have had an extensive experience of the rabbit pest. Mr Harvey, 1 believe, has been in the service of the New Zealand Stock Department for twelve years, and his co-worker (Mr Welch) has devoted the greater part of his life to eradicating the pest.—l am, etc., KiLiiuxxv.
