This action was taken in consequence of the vessel having touched at Las Palmas. Melbourne, April 29. With the view of testing the Japanese market, Mr Tavernor, Minister of Public Works, is arrangnig to send a trial shipment of live itock and fruit. Rewind April®, 1.30 a.m. London, April 29. During the last two years the American live cattle supply has decreased by a quarter of a million head, and it is expected that there will be a rapid decline in shipments during the next six months, ManoimxE, AprilA At a meeting of the Rivorffia Frozen Meat Company, the Chairman said they had chartered a steamer capable of carrying 150 head of live cattle, and it was intended to thoroughly test the trade on a large scale. He also mentioned that Australian tinned meats w«re rapidly forcing their way into favour in England, to the exclusion of the American article.
