The Secretary in reading the annual report regretted to say that a careful investigation of the Union's affairs had failed to find it in the healthy stato it might otherwise be. Two heavy items appearingoutstauding in the balance sheet of £l3 duo to Hawke's Bay Union, and £lO to N.Z. Rugby Union, with sundry other accounts, brought the total amount of liabilities up to £3O. This was indeed a great handicap to commence the season with. He however hoped that by aliliated Clubs promptly paying their subscriptions, and by the careful election of a good executive for the coming year, the next balanco sheet would be somewhat reverse to that produced to-night. The report concluded by asking the Delegates to exhort their Clubs to put even greater enthusiasm in the welfare of the Union, and that the results depended entirely on their efforts, On the motion of Mr McGovern, seconded by Mr Hansen, the report was adopted.
