Mason, Struthcrj k Co, v T, H, Thompson.—This was a case brought by Messrs Mason, Strathers & Co., of Christchurch, judgment creditors to the amount of £24 2s 9d for goods supplied, against Thos. H, Thompson, saddler of Masterton. Mr Bunny appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr Ponaall for the defendant. Counsel for the plaintiffs asked the defendant to show cause why he should not meet the claim, or that at the time of creating the same ho Ajjras not in a position to meet it ifyithm a reasonable time. Defendant stated that he had done his best to meet the claim, which originally amounted to £9O, His father had assisted him to carry on the business, by advancing sens of time to time.

At tho present timo was not in a position to make any offer. His father would back another bill for the amount, but on writing to tho firm, they had not made any reply ono way or tho other, At this stage the case was adjourned. Torrey and Son v.
