SENTENCE OP DEATH PRONOUNCED.

Sydxey, April 6, George Dean, of North Sydney, who was found guilty of attempting to poison his wife, was found guilty, but recommended to mercy. His Honor passed sentence of death.

The woman was ill for some time and traces of different poisons were found in her food and medicine.

I'he case was a very mysterious one, and there was no direot evidence against the husband, who strongly maintained his itmocence.
