BANKING. (Received April 4, 10.20 am.) Losbos, March 5, At the annual meeting of the bank of Australasia, Mr Alban G. 11, Gibbs, Chairman, said the decrease in the profits' was due to stagnation in trade and the amount of advances by the bank. He hoped that a revival of prosperity in the Colonies would enable the institutions to renew increased dividends. The report of the North British and New Zealand Investment Company shows a profit of £3,000 of which £I,OOO is placed to reserve fund, £276 carried forward, and the remainder is available for the payment of a dividend,which the directors recommend to be at the rate of 3i percent.
