At the annual meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union, it was stated that there were 28 affiliated clubs, with a membership of 2000. During the coming season, visits were expected from Auckland, Wellington, Wairarapa, and South Canterbury. A new Rugby Union has been formed at Waipawa, to embrace all Clubs from Te Autc to Danevirke.
Mr Edwin Udy has been elected contain of the Greytown Football; ?Wie following letter signed " Thursday" explain for if-solf one or two matters which I dealt with {n my last noteß. I may Say that the communication to the Greytown Juniors was not addressed to the I Secretary, but an outside member, who did not mention it to his Club, and they therefore knew absolutely, nothing about the meeting being held, This fact was obtained from excellent authority. However, I am! very pleased to be corrected when in error, and publish " Thursday's" effusion:—
" Sib,—Allow me to correct one or ' two errors in "" Damocles'" notes, published in Monday's issue, re the Thursday Union. He says the (Jrejtown and Peatherston players were, rightly incensed at not being informed of the intention of the Wairarapa Juniors to form another Union. I may state.
