A Committee of the Victorian Racing Club has dec : ded to give the totalisator a trial, and further attempts are to bo made to obtain Parliamentary sanction for it to be used. Tho Railway receipts for the eight months have decreased by £120,000 as compared with the bame period of last year, The train mileage hae been reduced by 364,000 miles, and the expenditure reduced by £67,000.
