UNITED DISTRICT CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The Wellington and Wairarapa United District Charitable Aid Board met in the Corporation Buildings yesterday. Present—Messrs H. D. Bell, M.H.R (chairman), W. • Beetham, R. C. Kirk, J. Collins, Of. Brown, F. Bradey, P. H. Fraser,and W. C. Buchanan, M.H.R. The Chairman moved that the /' local bodies should contribute as follows towards the sum of £5269, being half the amount required:—Wellington City Council, £2187 7s 4d j Hutt County Council, £42710s lid; Horowlienua County Council, £291 lis 5d ; Borough of Melrose, £B9 10s 2d; Borough of Petone, £lll Is Id; Borough of Onslow, £(jjfe,2s 10(1; Borough of Lower Hutt, 2a05 os 8d; Borough of Karori, £SO 14s 6d; Wairarapa North County Council, £721 8s 2d; Wairarapa South County Council, £773 Is lOd; Pahiatua County Council, £lB2 17s 6d; Borough of Masterton, £lsl 8s 9d; Borough of Carterton, £3710s 6d; Borough of Greytown, £4B 2s 4d ; Borough of Pahiatua, £25 17s; sum required, £5269. I'kere was every prospect of having a very large number of unemployed this winter, and that was all tho mora reason proper economy should be exercised,
