COMMERCIAL.
The stock sale held by Mr F. H, Wood at tbe Tauherenikau yards yesterday was a marked improve-, menfc on its predecessors, both in point of quantity and quality of stock yarded. The attendance also was good, nearly every line was sold under the hammer, but prices are still decidedly in favor of buyers. A pleasing feature in connection with I this sale, was the fact that in nearly every case owners ontered the stock entered without reserve. Other settlers have expressed their intention of doing the same at future sales. This action will inspire confidence and ensure successful sales, The following is a quotation of prices obtained: Sheep: Fat wethers 7s' 9d, do ewes 4s to 5s 3d, 2-tooth wethers 5s lid, do ewes and wethers ss, store ewes Is 3d to 3s 6d, lambs Is 2d' to 3s.
Cattle: Empty heifers 45s to 655, hoifers in calf,' 40s to 60s, cows., and calves 60s, calves 15s, dairy cows 60s. Horses: A few were sold at low prices. Pigs: Weaners7B3d, young sows 20b, , .. .
