ICEBERGS.
(Kecoived, March 23, 10,30 a.m.) Sydney, March 23. The Government astronomer savs it is important that the attention of ship owners should be called to the fact that several vessels bound to Australia, round the Cape, have recently sighted icebergs. Between Jan 24 and March 2nd eleven borga ' were seen right in tho way of timf coming to Australia, one wit™ 700 miles of Albany. Possibly this ; came from the Antarctic regions direct, but judging from tho drift of the derelict Dumbartonshire. ? , off tho Ca PMf Good Hope, in 1894, he does not think so, as tho derelict shows clearly that the winds and currents are taking her rapidly, eastwards from the regions of the great icefields, and on the track of all bergs seen off the Capo for., thelast ■ four years.
