The Annual Meeting.

Tbentham, March 18, ■ At the annual meeting of the Association to-night, the following we amongst the mombers elected to the Council; Mr H, S, Izard, Wairarapa; Jlr W. Humphries, New Plymouth j.

Lieut Hughes, Wanganui; Lieut. Kirk, Wellington. Messrs Notman and Rodwell, of Wanganui, were elected auditors. Major Sommerville, who presided, explained that before the Government handed over tho management of tho gathering to the Association, the cost was £4OOO a year with a greatly reduced attendance of members; but since tho Council had taken over the work, the Government grant had been greatly reduced, until it simply meant a free grant of ammunition and railway passes. The overdraft now amounted to £3O, for which some members of the Council wero guarantors to tho bank. It was resolved to hold the next meeting in the middle of February, at Oamaru. MrMcNab, M.H.R., said the people there wero prepared to plank down £ls, and put the range in order. Major Sommorville said that, in reply to a request lie had made, ho had been informed that the Government could render no assistance in sending a team Home. Prizes are to be presented in Wellington on Wednesday night.
