1 MONTHLY MEETING. ) 1 The ordinary monthly mooting of tho Trustees of the North Wairarapa ■ Benevolent Society, was held this | morning. Present—Messrs R, T, . Holmes (chairman), E. Feist, R, D [ Dagg, and D. Guild. MINUTES. | The minutes of the previous meet- , iug were read and confirmed. ; CASUAL CASES. The action of the Chairman and Secretary iu regard to casual cases was confirmed, RKCOQXITION. Clarence Howe, who had three months relief last winter sent tho Trustees £llos, half of tho whole amount he had received. Ho asked if tho Trustees could recommend him to any work during the wintor. The Trustees considered that if all recipients did likewise, they would have plenty of funds, sins, o'meara's case, Dr Beard reported that Mrs O'Mearawas unable to earn her own living at present, and recommended a continuanoo of tho assistance granted to her. They found that hor relatives were not in a position to support her, An allowance of 10s por week, for rent and orders, was granted. The Rev. A, 0. Yorke, wrote that ho was about to order an arti- ' ficial leg for ytung Morgan, and asked if the Trustees could assist him to raise the difference between what he had collected (£l7), 1 and tho cost of the limb, about £2l, i Resolved that tho amount of £4 be 1 granted. i mrs Howard's case. The Secretary of the Wairau ' Board (Blenheim) wrote stating that 1 that Society declined to pay for the assistance rendered to Mrs Howard, The letter "was referred to Mr Beqrd, treasurer's report. The Treasurer's report showed a 1 credit balance of £SO 4s 7d, less £4 j nnpresented cheques. 1 ACCOUNTS. 1 Aocounts amounting to £4814s 3d ( were passed for payment. , There being no other business, the j meeeting adjourned. >
