In the Supreme Court this mornin? in the case in which Joseph Traynor was charged with attempting to obtain money by false pretences, from the licensee of the Club Hotel, the jury after being locked up all night, wero unable to agree, and were discharged, A new trial has been ordered. The youth 6. Faithfull, and the Chinamen .Too Way, were indicted for the larceny of biscuits, etc., the property of the Phamix Company, Dunedin.
The Crown prosecutor applied for an adjournment until next sitting, on the grounds that Ernest Hawke, agent of the Company, and principal witness, was absent.
After argument it was decided to adjourn till Friday.
